Product update: Ento launches cutting-edge user interface

Optimising energy consumption and verifying energy savings just advanced to the next stage: With the latest platform update, Ento equips energy professionals and building managers with even better tools to manage their portfolio’s energy consumption. As of today, the improved interface is available to all new and existing Ento users.

In December, a hackathon of Ento’s developer and UX design team set the foundation for the product update. During the three-day event, the team worked off both internal as well as external feedback from customers with the goal of helping energy professionals with managing public and commercial building portfolios more efficiently. The insights were then translated into new features and an advanced interface which got officially released today.

It has been five years since Ento's founding and today the journey towards efficient energy management takes a giant leap forward with our latest platform enhancements. We are committed to providing energy professionals with tools that empower them to navigate and control their portfolios effortlessly, says Malte Frederiksen, CCO at Ento.

Empowering energy professionals with enhanced tools for unmatched portfolio control

A more elaborate Home tab, comprehensive Sites tab, more detailed Verifications, and revamped Benchmarking capabilities ensure users can navigate and control their energy portfolios effortlessly with Ento's enhanced user interface. The new features include:

Home

With this update, the Home tab undergoes a transformation, offering users a more sophisticated overview. The Board is now displaying alerts, sites under review, and ongoing savings so that users can effortlessly monitor relevant sites at a glance (see image below). Consumption details for individual sites are just a click away, saving time and improving user experience.

Furthermore, the performance of the entire portfolio, divided by energy sources, is merely one click away. Instead of spending hours calculating how your energy consumption changed in the current versus the previous year, the annualised and verified savings can be accessed within seconds (see image below).

Sites

The revamped Sites tab presents a comprehensive list of all portfolio sites. The intuitive filter and search function grants easy access to any of the buildings. We have added details like the assigned building manager and an overview of the connected energy sources.

Next to the overall consumption overview, users find a ‘Model’ button which lets them delve deeper into the models behind the calculations.

Users are also able to see what meters are connected to a building and register actions for specific meters only. Moreover, when verifying savings, this can now be done on individual meters or groups of meters, significantly enhancing the precision of their energy management strategies (see image below).

Lastly, the annualised and verified savings for single sites can be viewed under ‘Performance’, giving insight into energy, carbon, and cost savings a particular building achieved compared to previous year (see image below).

Verifications

Under the Verifications tab, users can now experience advanced capabilities when creating multisite verifications. The interface provides an overview of the buildings included in the verification and those excluded, along with the reasons for their exclusion (see image below).

Further, users can now verify savings even in scenarios with multiple activities within the same verification period or a very short baseline, providing greater flexibility in the verification process.

Buildings can now be benchmarked against similar buildings within the same industry

The Benchmark table, available under the respective tab, offers detailed information for those seeking deeper insights into their energy consumption trends. The most prominent change in regard to benchmarking buildings, is the possibility to compare a single building to buildings that are within the same industry. The graph shows how one’s building is performing in comparison to sites with similar size and purpose.

Additionally, the enhanced Ento platform allows users to calculate their reference consumption to visualise how a building would compare if the consumption was different. In addition to that, it is also possible to assess the remaining potential after reaching desired baseload/peak levels.

New Solar Advisor summary tab for more insights

The platform update comes with two enhancements for anyone using solar power: Firstly, you are now able to run performance verifications for solar production. As for the other energy sources, the current performance is displayed on both the home page (see image below) and the single site view so that you can see at one glance, how much energy your solar panels are producing.

Secondly, the improved Solar Advisor Summary tab provides more insights about the PV production, self-consumption, and excess in the last year (see image below).

The platform update is now accessible to everyone

As of today, all existing customers and users have been flipped to the new user interface. All existing data, comments etc. have of course been transferred to the new interface. You can log in via https://app.ento.ai  and try out the new functionalities yourself.

If you aren’t a user of Ento yet, you can sign up for free and check out our platform and its features. Simply go to https://app.ento.ai/accounts/signup/  and create an account.
