An energy efficiency report by Ento highlighted unusual baseline consumption levels in a municipal museum. It revealed that HVAC and refrigeration units – believed to shut off at night – were actually running 24/7. This error led to over €100,000 in annual energy waste, equivalent to 128 ton CO2.
Corrective actions were implemented, including reprogramming operating schedules, disconnecting unnecessary components, and installing new timers. Following these adjustments, nighttime consumption dropped significantly.
With this collection, we’re exploring – the often curious – cases of energy consumption in buildings that our customers experienced.
