At first glance, everything seemed normal – but behind the scenes, 10,000 liters of water were disappearing every single day.

This was the Ento Effect in action: identifying an invisible problem and ensuring it was finally resolved.

For months, our system detected unusual water consumption at an eldercare and sports facility. We sent multiple alerts as the numbers pointed to a leak – but strangely the customer’s utility didn’t. As it turned out after an enquiry with the utility, the alerts had been turned off due to the building’s classification.

This learning brought the breakthrough and the energy managers finally traced the problem: a forgotten pipe connection to an old water fountain that had never been properly shut off. On top of that, the water meter had been assigned to a different site.

By isolating the section, the energy managers confirmed the leak and stopped the unnecessary water loss.

The critical lesson of this case: utilities won’t always catch excessive consumption, and relying on automated alerts isn’t enough.
